Some of the biggest transitions in my life would probably be, First off when I moved from Eagan, MN to Hudson, WI after second grade. This was a tramatic time for me because of the fact that I was so young and shy at this age. When I moved to the new school in WI people were not the most welcoming people and I had two girls fighting over who got to play with me at what recess and my teacher who would point me out to the class in the areas that I was bad at.
Second, I would have to say moving into the dorms my freshmen year of college because it is all new surroundings and people and situation. After awhile though I made friends quickly because I was not as shy anymore and everyone was in the same boat.
Lastly, the one that has affected me the most would have to be my mom going through all of her surgeries in her life, her being my heroine and all. She had breast cancer when I was 12 and a knee replacement when I was 18 and then just last week she had a huge reconstructive foot surgery. I would say that seeing her over come all of these obstacles in her life and being still so positive and strong through the whole thing and always putting my sister and me first would be the largest impact in my life. Many times I may get down about my life and think to myself, "wow I am soo stressed. and fat, and I need to get my grades up, and oh man I worked so hard today I am sore," then I look at people like my mom who has had it way worse and then I realize how truely thankful I am for my life and the great people that I have in my life.
I feel like every experience in my life has affected me in someway from the little things to the big things and that everyone learns and grows from those experiences.
How do you handle the hardships in life, like what do you do to stay positive? Any ideas? I need some right now..

I have had a lot of hardships in my life and the way that I stay positive is trying to look at life in a new light. This bad thing happened to me now what can I take from this situation. I try and make it a learning experience, where I can grow as a person. I also like to think that the next day is a new and fresh day and I choose my mood. I can either sit around and sulk, or I can do something positive with my life and have fun, make a hardship turn into a new beginning of something else.
ReplyDeleteIf I'm ever having a bad day, or need to stay positive about something I look at my friends that are close to me for guidance and support. Usually they are full of answers and will help me through anything. If not, I personally just turn to pray because God always seems to pull me out of sticky situations, but this is my own personal beliefs and follows that I go off of, so only personal suggestions as well!
ReplyDeleteI like to do something that makes me feel like I've accomplished something, such as go for a run or get the laundry done or clean the entire house. I also love listening to music while I do it and sing and dance around. I'm sure I look ridiculous doing that but it's my house and I do what I want. It also really helps me to talk things out with people, especially my mom or my brother. I think you need those people you can really rely on about anything and that's how I cope with bad situations.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely turning to friends is a great thing to do. Even if you don’t feel like talking to them about your problems, just hanging out with them can take your mind off your problems. The main thing I try to do when I am down is stay busy doing things that make me happy.
